Electronic Arts has shelved plans for its single-player Black Panther game, resulting in the closure of Cliffhanger Games and subsequent layoffs. EA Entertainment President Laura Miele cited the need to sharpen the company’s focus as the reason behind these decisions. The MOVE is part of a broader strategy to reallocate creative resources toward key growth opportunities.
Affected employees are being offered support, including assistance in finding new roles within the company. EA will now concentrate on Core franchises such as Apex Legends, Skate, The Sims, and Battlefield, while continuing development on its Iron Man game.
